Laser Eye Surgery
At Crescent Heights Optometry, we strive to provide services that meet the visual needs of our patients. Our optometrists can perform pre- and post-operative care for patients who wish to undergo laser eye surgery. We will be happy to discuss your candidacy and the various refractive surgery options that will best suit your lifestyle and needs. We work closely with surgeons at various laser surgery centres to ensure you attain the best vision possible.
Cataract Surgery
Our eye doctors will provide referrals to ophthalmologists for eye surgery such as cataracts. After cataract surgery, the implanted lens will provide good distance vision without needing glasses. However, your vision close-up may still be blurry and require reading glasses. Our Optometrist will evaluate your vision around a month after cataract surgery to see if you need glasses to maximize your distance and near vision.
Corneal Transplant Surgery
After Corneal transplant surgery, your eyesight should gradually improve a few weeks after a corneal graft, although it can take anywhere from a couple of months up to a year to have stable vision. You will be left with a degree of myopia (nearsightedness) and astigmatism because the curve of the new corneal tissue can't match exactly the curve of your natural cornea. Your vision will fluctuate during the first few months following surgery, after our Optometrists exam they will let you know when your vision is stable enough for eyeglasses or contacts.
